The Hart-Montague bike trail is a 22-mile-long excursion with great views and the Clear Springs Nature Preserve sits on 100 acres of woods and natural springs to explore.
If you’re here for a wintertime romantic getaway, then check out the Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park for a day on the slopes and finish it out with some nice hot chocolate by the private fireplace in your suite back at the Weathervane Inn.

Of all of the amazing properties to stay at in Saugatuck, the Lake Shore Resort is my personal favorite. It’s set a little farther away from downtown Saugatuck, so it feels like a well-kept secret. The resort has its own private beach and a large balcony for you and your partner to relax and watch the famous Lake Michigan sunset.
Since the resort is still only a short 8-minute drive to downtown Saugatuck, it will give you access to the quaint, charming town shops and restaurants if you want to eat outside of the resort, but the food on site is so good you probably won’t want to leave.
St Clair Inn

If you’re looking for romantic getaway near Detroit, The St Clair Inn is within view of Canada, right on the thumb’s edge. This property was fully renovated in 2019 and they’ve even managed to expertly preserve the history and lore surrounding this area.
Be sure to ask about the story of Jimmy Hoffa and the North Tower, and the story of the treasure chest at the bottom of the river. The history and the views at this inn create the perfect atmosphere for a romantic getaway.
Bavarian Inn Lodge
